The level camps are over so go recharge yourselves and be ready for our drama sessions.

All the sessions are from 9am - 5pm

Everyone is expected to attend the trainings unless you have a valid reason.
Be in p.e. attire or your drama shirt. And girls, remember to wear shorts!
Don't forget to bring your drama notebook too.
Other than that make sure you're in proper attire.

Hi Dramalites, this is Daniel here, Ex-president.
The SYF results will be out next week or the following week. I'll be on stage with the next president to announce it to the whole school. I wish you guys all the best for this year! You guys will be having training sessions. Like ballroom dance, body percussion... etc. SYF comes every 2 years. And, there will be a farewell party this Thursday. FREAKING LESS THAN 15 HOURS TO SYF DRAMA!!

10.40am! 5mins of set up, 20mins of SYF play, 5 mins to clear off.

Can't believe right? The next thing you know is that you are at the venue(CJC), changing..... on stage.... moving props...... and the show.. STARTS!....... and ends...

Tips from president: RELAX LA. STAY CALM BITCHES! DO YOUR VERY VERY BEST! GIVE YOUR 100 + 10%! love you all!

And don't leave any regrets behind. Leave the stage with pride and have the feeling that you have actually achieved something!. Cause once it's done, it's done.

It was a proud day for us today. Everyone wore the drama shirt during the SYF rehearsal in the hall today. Kindda united as one big family! Everybody's gonna feel the pressure now. Cause we left only 3 FREAKING DAYS TO SYF!

THREE! SAN! SANG! TIGA!

Rules for backstage crews:

1. The 5 mins set up time will start when the staircase door is being opened.
2. It is expected that we spend less than 2 mins to set up the props.
3. Curtains will be closed during the set up.
4. Noise heard or any props that dropped, points will be deducted!
5. No backstage crews are to be seen on stage during the 20 mins SYF or it will be a straight C.O.P!
6. To be leaning on the wall throughout the whole of the SYF play to ensure none to be seen.
7. Dress code: Drama shirt and black pants.
8. When the curtains are closed after the end of the SYF, props are to be removed within 5 mins.
9. Handphones and watches are to be surrendered to the teachers on the way to CJC in the bus.
10. Any noise heard, points will be deducted. E.g Handphone rings: 5 points deducted.

Actors:

1. In any case that you lost your lines, IMPROVISE.
2. Do not speak during blackout or straight C.O.P would be given.
3. Good diction and projection will be awarded.
4. Give eye contact when there is any monologue. first scene and last scene.
5. During blackout, no noise should be heard.
6. Wait for your spot light so that you can speak.

Crews from control room:

1. Stage Manager (SM) will carry out orders in the control room.
2. To be alert!
3. Sound will cut off by fading it.
4. Lighting, stay calm! i know you're nervous.

By the way, you have one last rehearsal before going for SYF compeition.

Monday: 3pm to 4.30pm in the AVA room (to be confirmed)
TO ALL: DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND REST WELL AFTER EACH REHEARSAL!!!

TUESDAY (SYF DAY): Meet outside the general office by 6.30am. In drama shirt. We won't be attending the flag raising ceremony. Will come back to school for lesson on 12 noon.

RESULTS: Will be announced to the whole school by Daniel and the next upcoming president on the starting on May. 2 weeks after the last SYF.

Today cleared the first scene all the way to the miming(Does anybody hear her) part. With start-stop runs. Any mistakes just start all over from the beginning. Can't really continue to finish up the start-stop run for the whole play due to time constrain. We'll do it after CJC's technical run.

HI ALL!
The blog is still under construction.
WE HAD OUR NEW SCRIPTS TODAY!
"PIERROT"(Peer-ro) It's a emotional stunted SYF performance. Emotional...
Means... if we make the judges cry, moved, we will immediately get a Gold!
Had some new sec 1 members checking out on our club. Hope they join.
Check out "PIERROT" on youtube which was once performed by the National Youth Drama Squad members. It's actually a 1hr30mins play. But for SYF, had to summarize the story to a 20 minutes piece. Enjoy it!
We will also be presenting the play to the whole school on mid March.
SYF competition is on April 6!
Cast, please memorize your lines as soon as possible so that we don't have to always refer to the script while rehearsing.
And for the mime ensemble, practice it continuously. Song title is "DOES ANYBODY HEAR HER" by casting crowns. thanks! seeya next thursday in the AVA room
